Service Description

The ULTIMATE experience! Shiatsu (pronounced "she-AT-zoo"), Japanese for "finger pressure," is a system of healing and health maintenance that originated in China over 3,000 years ago. Modern Shiatsu combines the philosophy and approach of traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine with western Chiropractic techniques. Through pressure applied to specific points of the human body, Shiatsu stimulates or calms the energy flowing through the body to promote health and treat specific illnesses. Shiatsu, a holistic therapy, helps balance all four aspects of your well-being: body, mind, emotion, and spirit. During a Shiatsu session you lie fully clothed on a soft cushion floor mat and massage your body using my hands, fingers, elbows, knees, and feet along the meridians of your body. Also stretching and rotating your joints gently will be incorporated. I use a number of techniques to balance the flow of life force energy, known as "ki." (It is pronounced "key" in Japanese and Korean. In Mandarin it is called "chee," or we called "qi.") This life force energy flows through the body along well-defined passageways called meridians or channels, which contain acupoints that influence the flow of ki. Interruptions and blockages along the channels reduce your energy. Shiatsu therapy can do the following: Enhance mobility and function of joints and muscles Relieve mental, emotional, and physical fatigue Improve circulation and respiration Promote restful sleep Stimulate the immune system Relieve stress and promote deep relaxation Help decrease high blood pressure Improve thinking and general sense of well-being Provide relief for many illnesses, diseases, and chronic and acute disorders, such as: Fibromyalgia Hypertension Depression and anxiety Headaches and migraines Asthma and allergies Arthritis Emotional and physical stress Low back pain and sciatica Neck and shoulder pain Menstrual and menopausal symptoms Gastrointestinal disorders Chronic fatigue immune disorder syndrome

Cancellation Policy

Your therapy times are reserved exclusively for you. I value your business and ask that you respect the scheduling policy. Should you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance. Break Time Massage Therapy is exclusive only for military and their family and friends. [Cancellation Policy] I understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In my desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored: 24 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give me 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment. [No-shows] Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They may be charged for their “missed” appointment. [Late Arrivals] If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time. Freshen up before your treatment. Maintain a good personal hygiene.
